AVG Business Edition 9.0 Has Been Released

AVG Business Edition 9.0 has officially released at 27th October 2009, but it is only available on AVG website at 27th October 2009. It has been long waited since the release of AVG Home Editions 9.0 has been released at 5th October 2009. The free edition is released at 15th October 2009.

A lot of people might be wondering, why do I promote AVG instead of other Antivirus?
The reason is very simple. Its speed and its low RAM consumption. And also its accuracy on detecting viruses.

I’ve been used a lot of antivirus software before, although I am now using Ubuntu Linux, but I have to always test softwares for Windows in order to recommend the best solutions to my clients.

Here I will just highlight some important features and comparison, since I have some feedback about people is lazy to read long review articles.

Why Windows 7 Not Worth The Money

At first, I wouldn’t want to release this article. But after I see there is so many people who over fancy about Windows 7 and willing to pretend not seeing its disadvantage but continue on bashing Linux, so I have decided to publish this article.

As you all know, Windows 7 is officially released at 22nd October 2009. It is serve as a replacement of Windows Vista. I’m sure a lot people wondering why is Windows 7 release so fast while Vista only on the market officially just for 2 years time? I will explain that later.

Vista was released 30th January 2007. It had been a long waited OS from Microsoft by a lot of people. But everyone was very frustrated with the result as Vista was consuming too much disk space, RAM etc. The minimum requirement that Vista require is too high, until most people not able to catch up. A lot of people was forced to upgrade the PC just to be able to install Vista.

Site Will Down For Migration

This site will down a few hours in order to migrate to a new server.

This site’s hits has increase a lot recently, and the web hosting is not enough to support this much of visit.

Therefore, I had decided to migrate this site from a shared web hosting to a VPS where this site will be running alone in a server without sharing resources with other websites.

All the data has been migrated before this post is written, so the site is only down for a few hours in order for the domain name’s name server record to be updated.

This site will be temporary down for server transfer start from 13th September 2009.

It is estimated will be down from 13/09/09 3am to 3am 14/09/09 since domain DNS update usually takes up to 24 hours or 72 hours. But of course, I hope that the DNS records update will be fast.

If you are not able to view this site, it not your internet problem or the site is closed, it is because of the server migration,

Decision on migrating server is to have a faster loading speed and better uptime due to the current server always having downtime during peak hours. Therefore, migrating to a new server with higher specs (RAM & CPU speed) will solve the downtime problem.

Pidgin – Messenger For All IM Networks

I am sure most people who online often nowadays is using instant messenger like MSN, Yahoo, Google G Talk, Face Book Chat, or maybe even ICQ and IRC.

But usually people might be running a few different softwares to chat in these instant messenger networks such as Windows Live Messenger for MSN, Yahoo messenger for Yahoo, and you will have to login to facebook.com just to chat in Face Book chat.

But running so many so programs and login to the websites, it will slow down your computer as these programs does takes a lot of RAM (memory).

The best way to overcome this problem is to run a program that able to connect to all these instant messenger network all at once.

God Dammit!

Dammit! I missed the Ubuntu Release Party!
I had prepared for it since last month. And I missed it with some stupid reason!
When I arrive there, the party is already over!

My effort on all these Open Source things and effort on my work is just all gone just like that due to damn stupid reason!

This Ubuntu Release Party is the 1st ever gathering which is held after Ubuntu Malaysia officially recognize as official Ubuntu LoCO (Local Community). And guess what? It breaks the highest attendance records if compare to the existing records of around 45 people.

Ubuntu Malaysia Official LoCo Lanching & Jaunty Jackalope Release Party!!!

The party is at 31 May 2009, 8pm
As in 1 of my previous post I have written, Ubuntu Malaysia Community has become an official Ubuntu LoCo (Local Community) listed under Ubuntu.

We had delayed our launching party until now.
After some long discussion, we decided to do the launching party during the OSCONF Malaysia 2009(Open Source Conference Malaysia 2009).

Ubuntu Malaysia will going to be 1 of the open source exhibitor during the OSCONF.
And yes, like other Ubuntu events, we will going to give away Ubuntu Linux CD!!!
But 1 thing, The OSCONF itself is not free to enter, you have to pay for the entrance fees.
